Onboarding

Welcome to Tall Tales or Truth?  You Decide.

Before reviewing the case files, new personnel should be aware that this organization operates somewhat differently than most.

People have told me for years that I should write a book.

The problem was never a lack of stories.

The problem was deciding where to begin.

This collection is part memoir, part observation, part comedy, and part evidence that life is often stranger than fiction. Some reports are funny. Some are painful. Some still don’t make much sense. Most contain a little of everything.

Not every file speaks in the same voice. Some are written as personal memory logs. Others arrive disguised as official Research Department reports. A few were apparently drafted by committees that should never have been left unsupervised.

Over time, I discovered that stories—much like people—develop personalities of their own. My only responsibility was to write them down before they escaped.

The events described here are true to the best of my memory logs. The names, dates, and infrastructure details that matter have been preserved whenever possible.

Whether these files represent tall tales, miracles, administrative misadventures, or simply life is no longer my decision.

Research Department has legally delegated that responsibility to you.

Thank you for completing Onboarding.

Welcome to the investigation.
